About Tuyet Tran

Early Career

Tuyet Tran began selling her artwork in 2015 at a public convention, where she was fully booked for hand-drawn commissions the entire weekend. For the next three years she sold her work in person, before feeling called to reach a larger audience online.

By 2017, after what seemed like the height of her digital illustration career, Tuyet realized something was missing. In search of authenticity, she stepped away from selling her art for several years, sensing that something pure and innocent had been lost along the way.

Rediscovery Through Spiritual Practice

In 2023, during a time of renewal, Tuyet discovered Falun Dafa, an ancient Chinese spiritual practice and meditation. Through this, she found inner calm amidst chaos and her depression began to lift. With this clarity came a deep calling and a request from others to return to art—this time with a medium aligned with her soul.

Gongbi Painting

A chance encounter with a library book on Chinese brush painting introduced her to the Gongbi style. Defined by meticulous fine-line brushwork and delicate layers of color on xuan paper, Gongbi felt like coming home.

Through patient practice, mistakes, and perseverance, Tuyet studied the works of master painters and taught herself this traditional art form, carrying forward an ancient lineage that speaks of beauty, harmony, and virtue.

At a time when the world rushes forward with digital shortcuts, Tuyet chooses to slow down—painting with presence, attention, and reverence for detail.

Artist’s Mission

Tuyet believes that to come home to ourselves is to remember who we truly are. In ancient China, painting and calligraphy were not only artistic pursuits but also a way to preserve culture, virtue, and connection with the Divine.

When you bring home one of her hand-painted originals, you are inviting peace, calm, and sacred harmony into your life. You are choosing to create a space that reflects your inner radiance, integrity, and true self.

Her mission is simple: Tuyet Tran paints to help connect you to who you truly are—your pure, honest, and sacred Self.

Name Meaning

Tuyết (pronounced Tuu-ee) means “snow” in Vietnamese.

"I was at your booth on the last day of [a San Jose convention]. Your values and memories expressed within each picture holds very dearly and sentimental to me.

Not many people are able to express, let alone, feel, the different portrayals of posivity, love, and happiness about the life we have. Overall, your style in art has a very unique, genuine, positive theme to it among the hundreds of booths I've seen.

The one thing that makes you stand out is that your art gives hope, love, happiness, and familiarity about the things we all value in life the most.

For example, a couple of messages I see in your pictures are: "love and appreciate yourself", the precious value of having friends that care about you, the joy and experiences that altogether involves of trusting others...and confiding in people who love and take care of you.

Tuyet, I can't wait to see what else you can share to the rest of the world. I'm going to definitely keep an eye out for you from now on. 🙂 after I save up, I will buy a commission based photo/print from you."
